Hotels in Kardamena
Lush, fertile and lovingly cooled by regular eastern Aegean breezes, the Greek island of Kos has seduced tourists since the 1960s. Many of the once tranquil sponge-fishing villages have been turned into modern, pulsating resorts. None more so that Kardamena.
Originally, Kardamena was built on the site of the ancient settlement of Alassarna - and you can still take in some impressive ruins, including the lovely Temple of Apollo. But most people, young, old, families and singles, come more for the golden beaches and sapphire waters, and for the throbbing bars and vivacious nightlife.
After dark, the place comes alive with dance-music, and you can have your choice of hundreds of pubs, clubs and restaurants that line the seafront. Be warned if you are looking for a quiet Greek village Kardamena is probably not for you. It is particularly popular with young Brits who want to party the night away.
